Our client is searching for a Risk Surveyor which requires the successful individual who has the necessary skills and competencies to assess and interpret risk exposures and to make recommendations based on these analyses The Risk Surveyor is tasked with conducting detailed risk assessments on the risk as well as provide an indepth view to underwriters assisting them to underwrite the risk appropriately

Key performance areas
Survey very large commercial agricultural and corporate risks
Identify suitable risk management and improvement requirements
Set EML on target risks
Communicate complex risk issues with the insured&rsquos own risk managers and senior survey staff of the broker
Travel nationally as well as to other territories within Africa to conduct surveys of large or complex risks
Have extensive knowledge about fire hazards inception hazards fire spread chemicals combustibility of materials electrical hazards etc

Requirements
Fire engineering Degree and/or extensive Fire Brigade or Civil Engineering experience alternatively 4 to 5 years risk management experience Short term insurance related and/or more than 5 years Commercial underwriting insurance experience
Matric
Valid drivers license
Risk management qualification would be advantageous
Occupational Health and Safety qualification/knowledge
FPASA qualification
Must have very good MS Office skills
Technology awareness and capability
