Our client a leading engineering firm is searching for a highly experienced Logistics Manager The successful candidate will be one who has strong experience and knowledge of exportation of goods into Africa
Key performance areas Provide extensive logistics support to the business Maximise stock levels to our Customers and minimise Supply Chain cost Maintain stock levels in accordance with agreed service levels Manage all the branch and consignment warehouses on a national basis to ensure the efficient and effective operations of these sites Ensure that invoicing is done at least monthly at all consignment sites Coach and mentor regional warehouse staff through developmental and support processes Coach and support the Inventory Manager to ensure that all warehousing / stock sites are managed in line with the ACSA stocking policy Order management to ensure timely order processing and invoicing Ensure Expediting is done in a timely manner and feedback accurate information to all relevant stake holders Identify failing/inadequate processes and procedures then develop implement maintain and monitor the new processes to eliminate non conformances Introduce and monitor document flow processes that will ensure accurate stock control at all the warehousing / storage sites Maintenance of accurate document control with special emphasis on PODs Ensure that all goods are stored in accordance with compliance processes with regard to the condition quality and security of the product Co ordinate and/or manage Stock counts / Cycle counts Ensure that at least 3 stock takes per year are done at all sites Implement develop and maintain distribution/transport processes at all branch sites Must be cost effective with best possible service to the Customer Evaluate the performance and proficiency of personnel and recommend training to upgrade skills Prepare or coordinate the preparation of various report required for all committee meetings Ensure that Health & Safety legal requirements are adhered to at all warehousing / storage sites Comply adhere to and support QA to drive the continuous improvement process Identify and benchmark staff training needs Motivate and empower staff through training programmes and quality management systems
Requirements Diploma/Degree in Logistics in Logistics Management or similar qualification Minimum of 5 years experience in the Logistics field of which at least two to three years must have been in a managerial position Have a good understanding of Incoterms Experience in the exportation of goods into Africa with a solid background and knowledge of the documentation and logistics surrounding the process Must have excellent report writing skills Must have proven experience with stock/ inventory management BPCS experience will be an advantage Strong computer literacy skills Willingness to travel locally and internationally as and when required Fluent in English
